What Is YIME Industrial Nanofiltration Membrane?

 

Industrial NF membrane, also known as an industrial nanofiltration membrane, is a pressure-driven membrane separation technology positioned between ultrafiltration (UF) and reverse osmosis (RO). Nanofiltration membranes allow certain small molecules and low-valence ions to pass through while effectively retaining most organic substances, colloids, bacteria, and multivalent ions. Therefore, NF membranes have significant application value in modern industrial water treatment systems. Typically, the pore size of an NF membrane is around 1–2 nm, and it can retain substances with molecular weights ranging from approximately 150–500 Da. The term “nanofiltration” originates from its nanometer-scale separation capability.

Industrial NF membranes possess partial desalination capability for dissolved salts. Their rejection rate for monovalent ions is relatively lower, while multivalent ions can be removed much more effectively. This selective separation characteristic makes NF membranes widely used in groundwater softening, removal of organic matter from surface water, industrial wastewater recycling, food concentration, and pharmaceutical separation applications.
