Types And Differences Of Our Pressure Vessels

In reverse osmosis (RO) systems, the pressure vessel (membrane housing) is one of the most essential components. It not only holds and seals the membrane elements but also provides a stable and controlled pressure environment, ensuring optimal desalination and water production.
Without a reliable pressure vessel, even the best membranes may fail to perform properly due to uneven pressure, leakage, or structural fatigue. Thus, the vessel's durability, corrosion resistance, and sealing performance are critical for system stability.

Our pressure vessels are made of FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic), which offers high pressure resistance, corrosion resistance, and lightweight performance. They are designed for an operating pressure of up to 1500 PSI and have a service life of over ten years under normal conditions.
According to the number of membrane elements they can hold, our membrane housings are classified into:

  1. Single-core membrane housing – holds one membrane element
  2. Double-core membrane housing – holds two membrane elements
  3. Triple-core membrane housing – holds three membrane elements

The distinctions among them are as follows:
Single-core housings offer flexible installation and are suitable for small-scale or pilot systems.
Double-core housings balance space utilization and maintenance convenience, ideal for mid-sized pure water systems.
Triple-core housings are the most compact and economical, widely used in large industrial and seawater desalination systems.

Item Single-core Housing Double-core Housing Triple-core Housing
Installation Flexibility High (can be installed separately) Medium Low (requires centralized installation)
System Compactness Low Medium High
Unit Cost per Membrane High Medium Low (most economical)
Maintenance & Replacement Easy (single element can be replaced) Medium More complex (requires overall disassembly)
Typical Application Small-scale or pilot RO systems Medium-sized pure water systems Large industrial or seawater desalination systems

Advantages of Our Pressure Vessels

No. Advantage Description
1 High Strength and Reliability Designed and tested for operating pressures up to 1500 PSI, ensuring safe and stable performance under demanding conditions.
2 Superior Corrosion Resistance Constructed from FRP (Fiber Reinforced Plastic), offering excellent resistance to corrosion in brackish water, seawater, and harsh chemical environments.
3 Lightweight and Easy Installation Much lighter than traditional metal vessels, allowing for easier handling, transportation, and on-site installation.
4 Long Service Life with Low Maintenance Robust design ensures a lifespan of over 10 years under normal operating conditions, with minimal maintenance requirements.
5 Wide Compatibility Fully compatible with standard 4040 and 8040 RO membrane elements commonly used in industrial systems.
6 Cost-Effective Design Options Available in single, double, and triple-core configurations to optimize overall cost, system compactness, and efficiency.

Selection and Installation Guidance:
Choose the membrane housing based on system size, layout space, and maintenance needs:

  • Single-core for small or pilot systems (easy to replace individually)
  • Double-core for medium systems (balanced in cost and flexibility)
  • Triple-core for large-scale or seawater desalination systems (most compact and cost-effective)

During installation, ensure the correct inlet direction, sealing alignment, and uniform end-cap tightening. Using proper brackets and high-pressure fittings will enhance operational safety.
