100 GPD Nanofiltration Membrane Elements

100 GPD Nanofiltration Membrane Elements

The pore size and surface charge characteristics of 100 GPD Nanofiltration Membrane Elements give them resistance to fouling caused by colloids, suspended solids, and certain organic substances. However, regular cleaning is still required during long-term operation to prevent blockage. They can produce 100 gallons of water per day, which is sufficient for household use.

Product Introduction:

The pore size of 100 GPD Nanofiltration Membrane Elements ranges between 1–2 nanometers, positioned between ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis membranes. Their operating pressure typically falls between 0.5–1.5 MPa, which is also between that of ultrafiltration (0.1–0.3 MPa) and reverse osmosis (1–10 MPa). This low-pressure feature significantly reduces energy consumption, making them particularly suitable for pressure-sensitive or continuous-operation applications.

Most 100 GPD Nanofiltration Membrane Elements are composite membranes consisting of a porous support layer and a dense separation layer. The support layer provides mechanical strength, while the separation layer achieves precise filtration through its nano-scale pore structure.

Application Range:

  1. Drinking Water Treatment: Softens water quality, removes organic matter and color, reduces the risk of disinfection by-products, and produces safe, standard-compliant drinking water.
  2. Industrial Wastewater Treatment: Applied in industries such as electronics and pharmaceuticals to treat wastewater, recycle water resources, and achieve discharge standards.
  3. Food and Pharmaceutical Processing: Used in processes such as juice concentration, antibiotic extraction, and peptide purification, while preserving the activity of heat-sensitive substances.
  4. Special Softening Requirements: Achieves water softening through selective permeability to ions of different valences, without the need for regeneration or the generation of secondary pollution.

NF Membrane Features

  • Material Diversity: NF membranes can be fabricated from a wide range of materials, including polyamide, cellulose acetate, sulfonated polysulfone, aromatic polyamide composites, and inorganic materials. Some NF membranes feature surfaces coated with polyelectrolytes, giving them a negative charge that enhances the rejection of charged ions.
  • Technology Positioning: In its early stage, the NF membrane was often referred to as a "low-pressure RO membrane" or "loose RO membrane." It is recognized today as a novel pressure-driven membrane technology positioned between Reverse Osmosis (RO) and Ultrafiltration (UF).
